
Preventing harm through collaboration: Clue Community gathers in Glasgow

This week, we brought the Clue Community together in Glasgow for a day dedicated to tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing Scotland and beyond.
Investigators, intelligence professionals, and partners from across sectors joined us to share expertise, exchange ideas, and explore how collaboration can enhance the way investigations and intelligence work is carried out.
At the heart of the discussions were two recurring themes: prevention and disruption of harm. As Laura Eshelby, Clue’s Head of Economic Crime, reflected in her opening remarks:
“Our job is very clear. We help by providing you with the tools to reduce harm, tackle crime and abuse, protect the vulnerable, hold perpetrators accountable, and ensure public money and trust are safeguarded.”
Thomas Drohan, Clue’s Chief Strategy Officer, added that the power of the community lies in working together to accelerate solutions:
“Software is only half the story. Outcomes come from people, process, workflows, and tools working together. A community like this can really accelerate things. A solution one team has already figured out can save another team months.”
The event combined contributions from public bodies, product updates from Clue, and peer-to-peer learning. Attendees explored key themes including intelligence sharing, threat trends, and measuring impact, with plenty of opportunities to connect and build new partnerships.
What stood out most was the willingness of the community to be candid, to share experiences, and to help one another move faster towards solutions. It was a reminder that technology alone does not deliver outcomes. It is the people, processes, and collaboration that make the difference.
We are excited to see the ideas and connections that emerged in Glasgow translate into real-world impact.
