Clue and NHS Counter Fraud Authority Shortlisted for ICA Compliance Award

We’re proud to announce that Clue and the NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) have been shortlisted for the Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration Award at the ICA Compliance Awards Europe 2025.
This shortlisting recognises our joint success in embedding robust compliance practices across NHSCFA’s national counter fraud operations. The implementation of Clue has enabled NHSCFA to standardise adherence to the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act (CPIA) and ensure alignment with Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) guidance – a critical step in supporting lawful, effective investigations and disclosures.
By integrating intelligence and investigation workflows, NHSCFA has enhanced its ability to produce high-quality, CPS-ready material and enforce consistent case handling across England and Wales. This transformation has strengthened the organisation’s compliance posture and raised the standard for data integrity, auditability, and legal readiness in public sector investigations.
A collaborative model for counter-fraud innovation
Beyond compliance, this partnership has driven strategic transformation. Clue provides NHSCFA with national visibility of fraud across the NHS by capturing intelligence, tracking financial outcomes, and powering coordinated efforts across hundreds of counter fraud professionals. It supports early detection, proactive prevention, and high-impact enforcement – helping to recover and protect vital resources across a system managing over £170 billion annually.
“Clue is critical to what we do,” said Richard Rippin, Associate Director for Operational Services, NHSCFA. “It captures every single allegation, every bit of proactive work, and every penny of NHS fraud that is detected, prevented, and recovered.”
Together, we’re proud to be raising the bar for how technology, compliance, and collaboration can work hand-in-hand to protect public services.
Congratulations to all the nominees – we look forward to celebrating the sector’s achievements at the ceremony in June.
