Understanding the connection between animal abuse and violent acts between people
Animal Cruelty and Human Violence Awareness Week is dedicated to understanding the connection between animal abuse and violent acts between people. Violence and abuse towards animals is often indicative of other violent behaviours by the abuser.
Clue is proud of all the organisations we partner with that are dedicated to protecting animal welfare and safeguarding the vulnerable, including:
League Against Cruel Sports
The League Against Cruel Sports is one of the UK’s most influential animal protection charities. Its team of highly trained investigators work to expose and bring to justice those behind animal cruelty in activities such as hunting and dog fighting.
All the League’s intelligence is now centralised and searchable in real time. They can produce statistics and reports on animal crime to support their campaigns, and share intelligence with organisations involved in the fight against animal cruelty, such as the Police, the RSPCA and government agencies.

The Animal and Plant Health Agency
The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) are Executive Agencies of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs.
APHA works on behalf of the Scottish Government and Welsh Government to safeguard animal and plant health for the benefit of people, the environment, and the economy.
“Clue has enabled us to produce analytical products. The efficiency gains have been immense. The bimonthly tactical assessments we are able to produce using Clue have really helped investigations. Clue has enabled the agency to become more intelligence led and to look at our priorities allocate resources where they are needed.”

Veterinary Medicines Directorate
The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) aims to protect public health, animal health and the environment and to promote animal welfare by assuring veterinary medicines are safe, of a good quality and effective. Using Clue to share intelligence among enforcement partners is helping the VMD protect public health, animal health and the environment.
“We work closely with other parts of Defra to share data and intelligence and have a particularly close relationship with Defra Investigation Services (DIS) who carry out investigations into potential breaches of the VMR on our behalf. This relationship involves sharing case information, intelligence, and expertise. Clue is a comprehensive and intuitive investigation tool which is allowing us to build case files and to better manage investigations.”

RSPCA
The RSPCA is the world’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity, with the primary focus of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming or releasing animals across England and Wales. The RSPCA frontline workers are a ‘family’ of animal rescuers, rehabilitators and animal carers, all pulling together to help animals in greatest need.
